Donald Trump is going further than publicly denouncing Tom Emmer’s speakership bid. He’s also calling members to vent about his dislike for the Minnesotan, according to two Republicans.

The former president and his allies were calling Republican lawmakers Tuesday afternoon, just hours after Emmer secured the speakership nomination.

Trump had also called the No. 3 House GOP lawmaker “totally out-of-touch with Republican Voters” in a Truth Social post and said Republicans picking him as speaker would be a “a tragic mistake.”
